IDEMA
China held its 2011 Networking Golf Tournament at
Suzhou Jinji Lake International Golf Club on May,
20th 2011. The total participation was 58 members,
including 38 golfers.
"I am very glad to see the
members of IDEMA China taking full advantage of this
event to deepen their relationships amongst members.
Seeing how successful this event is, I will
encourage more of such activities to be arranged in
the future. Strong relationships amongst members is
the foundation of all successful associations" said
Mr Tan Leong Hooi, Chairman of IDEMA China and
Seagate's Vice President of Wuxi Operations.
In the blistering heat of summer,
a golf game can be daunting. However, this was not
so for Mr. Chua Boon Seng, Managing Director of
Yorkool Engineering (Jiangsu) Co. Ltd., who said,
"Never mind about the hot weather because it's a
great opportunity to spend half a day together with
old and new friends. Since we support the same
industry, we have a lot to talk about."
Despite the hot summer weather,
golfers demonstrated their skills and perseverance.
They had an enjoyable and memorable game. Steve Lin
of MMI took the prize for best score of the game.
A surprise was held during the
dinner to celebrate the birthday of Francis Ng from
Techsin. The event organizers arranged a birthday
cake and has a little celebration for him at the
dinner. "It is one of the most meaningful birthdays
I've ever had in my life. I am deeply touched that
the organizers have taken much trouble to have the
IDEMA members celebrate my birthday", said Francis.
With the scrumptious Southeast
Asian Cuisine for dinner as well as a Bingo game,
the participants has a great time. The winners of
the Bingo game went home with Seagate Go Flex hard
disc drives of 320Gb, 500Gb and 1Tb capacities.
"It's beyond my expectation to see that the event
has been such a wonderful success. I'm proud that I
had a part to play in making it happen", said Mr. Ng
Peng Siong, Seagate China's Materials Director and a
member of the organizing committee.
Without doubt, everyone had fun,
went home tired but had a fulfilling day.
